Our thriller will apply to the BBFC ratings at 15. We believe this is the correct rating because at 15, teenagers are able to understand the issues around mental illnesses, which this film could be interpreted as portraying. We decided on 15 rated and not 12 or 12A because we our film will include scenes of violence which aren't appropriate for under 15s. We also, however don't believe the film should be rated at 18 because this would limit the audience and the film doesn't include strong gore or horror, meaning that we would be limiting our success without needing to.We believe that "The Man With The Wooden Shadow" would come under personal identity and entertainment in Blumer and Katz's theory, because some people will watch the film and connect on a personal level with the films happenings and experiences of their own being very similar. Some people will just watch the film for pure entertain meant and not even think about it every being personal to someone else.

We don't believe that the Hypodermic Theory could be applied to our film because people can be understanding of the content of the film which would lead them to understand what is being seeing represented. However, there could be viewers that develop the wrong idea about people with mental illnesses. This could be avoided by explaining with a sort phrase at the bringing of the film warning what is going to be within the film.
This film could be both Mass and Niche however mainly Niche. This is because there could be a big audience who will go and watch the film just based on the trailer and not on their own interests. Although, people might decide to watch it because of the content, others might decide to not watch it because of the trailer and what the film includes. We believer that this film would come more under Niche because more people might choose to watch this film because the genre is of their taste and they are interested. Some people might watch this film based on the fact they can connect to it and understand it and it might even give them more understanding of themselves.
