BBFC

The BBFC's  only income is from the chargers from their services, by measuring the running times and working on the classifications of films/DVDs/TV shows etc. Making them a none profiting organisation. The

aim/job of the BBFC is to give a trusted rating of films/TV shows for the appropriate audience.

U stands for universal meaning anyone can watch the film or video if it has this rating. The film/videos are normally aimed a primary school children.

PG stands for parental guidance. This means a child under the age of 12 has to be with someone over 18 to be able to watch this film.

12A and 12 are age ratings that give a guidance to parents and their children to  show wether an adults needs to be present during a film or not. 12A tells the parent that if the child is under 12 there will need to be an adult present. 12 means that no child under 12 is able to watch the film, wether an adult is present or not.

15 is and age rating which says nobody under 15 can watch the film/video.  This age rating is given because the film/video contains violence and/or scenes of a sexual nature.

18 age rating is put on films which contains graphic scenes of violence/gory/sexual scenes. 18 age rating means only adults(people 18 and over) can view the film. Films which are rated at 18 are less likely to get more views as the target audience is limited.
